On Monday 29th November 2021, the Green Grafters environmental group and the Welsh House Farm Big Local partnership members welcomed the recently appointed CEO of the The National Lottery Community Fund David Knott to our community.
The NLCF has previously funded work with the Welsh House Farm Community Gardening Green Grafters that included environmental projects and community art projects at Rutley Community Garden.
David was taken on a tour around the community to see several green spaces that were and are still being developed Green Grafters, Hard Times Require Furious Dancing CCC Creative Civic Change and the Welsh House Farm Big Local.
The tour ended at the Rutley Grove Community Garden where David was shown the development of the garden and the impact on families that funding from his organisation was having.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank David and his team for taking time to visit Welsh House Farm to see not only the wonderful environmental work that is taking place but continued visibility that funds from the NLCF give to various projects in our community.
The Chairperson of the Welsh House Farm Big Local Graham Bryan and one of the Community Development Workers Dadirai Tsopo presented a huge Christmas cake and some presents to Wellington Court Sheltered Housing. The reduction in invitees was done in line with current public health guidelines. The Christmas spirit was abuzz and Staff together with the residents carried on to have a great party.
